A Norfolk native, Stephanie still remembers standing on milk crates at the age of six to reach the register of her parents’ small diner. After graduating from UVA, she bid a temporary farewell to The Commonwealth and raised a family just outside Detroit, Michigan. She cooked those old family recipes at home instead of in a restaurant, but C’Ville continued to pull at her heart.
Twenty years later, she finally returned. Those memories of rolling out dough, stirring soup, and bridging family and community have now come to life in a long-time dream: her own, Virginian take on a Jewish Deli. Modern Nosh integrates the foundations of Stephanie’s life – the importance of nourishing others, the love of her family, and the significance of social responsibility.
Welcome to Modern Nosh – where every time you dine, we donate. Stephanie is partnering with various Charlottesville nonprofits and charities, so all profits can go directly back into the community!
